Live show filmed for DVD release at the legendary Grand Ole Opry Theatre in Nashville. Directed by Russell Thomas, and starring Norah Jones and her band, with Dolly Parton as a special guest star. Simon designed a thrust-stage set into the semi-circular auditorium, and made use of back-lit screens and oversized hanging lamps to produce intimate and dramatic effects.

a brief biography

Simon studied Theatre Design at the Slade School of Art and Central St Martin's School of Art and Design. His extensive credits as designer include `Antony and Cleopatra' with Vanessa Redgrave, `Les Liaisons Dangereuses' in Zôrich with Peter Wood, `The Dearne Valley Opera' with Stephen Dexter, `Fourplay' at the Lyric, Hammersmith, `Song of an Honorary Soulman' as a national tour, and `Pal Joey' at the Edinburgh Festival. He has worked for the RSC, De Nederlandse Opera, Scottish Opera, Houston Grand Opera and The Royal Ballet, amongst many others.
